We travel to Bangkok a lot and in our opinion it’s THE place to go if you want to stay in a luxurious 5-star hotel without breaking the bank. We’ve compiled a list of four of our favorite luxury hotels in Bangkok that are perfect if you’re a first-time visitor. We’ll share what we love about each hotel, the price you can expect to pay per night and why the hotel might be a good fit for you.
As a reminder: we’ve personally visited all hotels and paid for our stays ourselves.

The first luxury hotel we recommend is the Eastin Grand Phaya Thai. This 5-star hotel is located very conveniently and has direct access to the Phaya Thai BTS station and the Airport Rail Link. This means that you can go straight from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport to the hotel by train. Getting from the airport to the hotel only takes 30 minutes. Phaya Thai is also a BTS station and is 3 stops away from the popular Siam area where you can find lots of shopping and restaurants

The Eastin Grand Phaya Thai was newly opened in 2023. We really like the modern luxurious feeling it has, which you’ll feel as soon as you step into the lobby.
The rooms feel warm and are decorated as such, continuing the overall luxurious feeling of the hotel. Also the beds are very comfortable and most rooms offer a beautiful panoramic view of Bangkok.
In the morning the hotel offers one of the biggest breakfast buffets we’ve ever seen. There is so much to eat here that they even made a map of the buffet! You can expect to find all kinds of western food options, local Thai food and Japanese and Chinese options. There is no way you’re leaving this buffet hungr!.
As for the amenities the hotel has plenty to offer. On the 22nd floor you’ll find the hotel’s first pool which is an infinity style pool with lots of sunbeds and loungers. On the 37th floor there is a second infinity pool that also offers beautiful views of Bangkok. The hotel also has an in-house spa available as well as a two-story gym.
This hotel is perfect if you’re looking for a luxury stay plus an easy connection to the airport and the city.
For a stay at the Eastin Grand Phaya Thai expect to pay around 5000 baht (€ 136 / US$ 155 / £ 114 ) per night, including breakfast.
The second luxury hotel we recommend is The Grande Centre Point Terminal 21. As the name suggests the hotel is built on top of the famous Terminal 21 mall in Asoke. The hotel even has a direct connection with the mall and Asoke is the place where the MRT metro line and BTS sky train intersect. This makes the location perfect for getting around.
Upon entering The Grande Centre Point you’ll immediately get that older luxury feel.
The rooms are set-up spaciously and include comfortable beds and large windows offering a beautiful view of Bangkok. The bathroom has an added bonus feature: a Japanese-style toilet! To be honest this is one of the main reasons we booked this hotel.
In the morning the breakfast buffet is served on the 5th floor at the hotel’s Blue Spice Restaurant. The buffet offers a nice east-meets-west combinations and even offers a soft-serve ice cream machine!
The real show-stopper of this hotel is the amount of facilities that they offer. As expected you’ll find a gym here and a beautiful pool overlooking the busy Asoke area. But that’s not all! There’s also a children’s room, a game-room, a botanical garden, a trampoline, an outdoor play area, a tennis court, a small golf-course, a sauna, steam room AND a jacuzzi.
We recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a luxurious resort-style stay in the heart of Bangkok. Especially if you enjoy having a mall and public transport at your doorstep.
For a stay at The Grande Centre Point Terminal 21 you should expect to pay at least 4500 (€ 120 / US$ 137 / £ 102 ) Baht per night, including breakfast.
The third hotel we recommend is the Millennium Hilton. This iconic Bangkok hotel is located on the western side of the Chao Phraya River. It’s also located right next to one of our favorite Bangkok malls: the Icon Siam.
A large part of the hotel was renovated in November 2024 and the Millennium Hilton got the luxurious overhaul it needed, resulting in a beautiful looking hotel.
Upon entering the hotel you step into a large lobby with a tall ceiling providing you with a warm welcome.
When you take the elevator up to the rooms, you can definitely tell that the hotel has been around for a while. Luckily, the rooms look modern and feel very spacious. Inside the room you’ll find comfortable beds, a smart-tv and a large bathroom with a bathtub and surprisingly: lots of mirrors.
The breakfast buffet takes place in the Flow Restaurant on the ground floor. The buffet is very extensive and offers food options from all over the world. There are many hot and cold breakfast dishes, fresh smoothies and lots of pastries which are really a must-try.
The Millennium Hilton also offers many facilities. On the 4th floor you’ll find an infinity pool with sunbeds in the water and beautiful views of the Chao Phraya River. There’s also a two-story gym, a sauna and a steam room available for use on the same floor.
On the 32nd floor you’ll find the 360 jazz bar, which yes indeed offers 360 degrees views of Bangkok. It’s a great place the enjoy the views of Bangkok by night. The bar also has live music playing six days a week, except on Mondays.
As the hotel is located right on the river they offer a complimentary shuttle boat service to BTS station Saphan Taksin for easy exploring.
This hotel is a good choice if you’re looking for a luxurious hotel on the Chao Phraya River with an amazing breakfast buffet, good facilities and easy access to Icon Siam Mall.
For a stay the Millennium Hilton Bangkok expect to pay around 6000 baht per night (€ 162 / US$ 185 / £ 137), including breakfast.
On to the fourth and final hotel we recommend: The Sindhorn Midtown hotel. This hotel is located in central Bangkok and is close to the Siam area. It’s about a 5-minute walk to BTS station Chit Lom and a 10 minute walk to CentralWorld, which is one of the biggest malls in Bangkok and the place where there’s always something fun going on.
The Sindhorn Midtown hotel was opened in July 2022 and upon entering the hotel you’re welcomed into a luxurious and understated lobby.
The hotel offers large rooms and many come with a couch in a small living room set-up. The beds are very comfortable too and the rooms are spacious enough for a longer stay.
One of the biggest plusses of this hotel is their breakfast buffet. It’s one of the best breakfast buffets we’ve had, and we can say that even after many hotel stays later. As expected there’s a buffet with many different cuisines to choose from and they have this wonderful option to order your favorite items and have them brought to your table.
The rooftop pool offers a beautiful view of Bangkok and is a relaxing place to be. Sunbeds are limited though so beware of this in the high-season One floor above the pool you’ll find a large gym with views of the pool and the surroundings.
We recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a luxury stay in a very central location in Bangkok with many sights nearby.
For a stay at the Sindhorn Midtown you can expect to pay around 5000 Baht per night for a standard room, including breakfast (€ 136 / US$ 155 / £ 114 ).
So these are the four luxury hotels in Bangkok that we recommend for first-time visitors and those looking to upgrade their Bangkok experience.
