We’ve personally stayed in each hotel of this list and we’re happy to recommend them to you. So without further ado, here’s our top 5 for must-stay hotels for Kuala Lumpur!
1. Capri by Fraser Hotel, Bukit Bintang

Location: Bukit Bintang
Perfect For: Couples and Digital Nomads looking for a modern, spacious stay.
Price Range: $$ – expect to pay around RM 400 – 450 per night.
The Capri by Fraser hotel is located in Kuala Lumpur’s largest tourist area: Bukit Bintang. It’s within walking distance of Kuala Lumpur’s best shopping malls, restaurants, and nightlife, while still being in relatively quiet location. The hotel’s rooftop infinity pool offers beautiful views of the city, while the spacious rooms make it a perfect accommodation for longer stays or couples traveling together.
We especially enjoyed the Premiere Studio room, it’s a spacious room that comes with a kitchenette and a large bathroom. This particular room also grants access to the hotel’s Pow Wow lounge. A room with lounge access costs a little more, but you do get quite a bit of extra value. In the lounge they provide an extra breakfast buffet as well as refreshments throughout the day and a late after-noon buffet.
The regular breakfast buffet is worth it too. It’s held every morning in the restaurant on the mezzanine level right above the check-in floor, and they offer many different dishes ranging from Malaysian cuisine to Western breakfast staples.
Nearby Attractions: Jalan Alor Night Market, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, and the TRX Exchange.
Why Stay Here? Enjoy fully equipped kitchens in the apartments, a fitness center, and great dining options

The Crowne Plaza KLCC is for you, if you’re looking to stay in a stylish and new hotel. It’s closely located to Kuala Lumpur’s most famous attraction, the Petronas Towers, and the hotel has modern and spacious rooms.
As for the facilities the hotel has a compact gym and a beautiful rooftop pool overlooking the neighboring Ibis hotel. There’s also a small whirl pool and for unexplained reasons a glass floor to look down on the concrete below.
The hotel also offers a breakfast buffet and it’s an extensive buffet with many delicious options. This is definitely one of our favorite breakfast buffets we encountered and we would book again just for that spread of pastries.
This 5-star hotel is designed for both business and leisure travelers, and offers spacious rooms, a beautiful rooftop pool and a business center.
Nearby Attractions: Petronas Towers, Suria KLCC, and KLCC Park
Why Stay Here? You’re looking for a hotel with an amazing breakfast buffet, comfortable rooms and want to stay close to the Petronas Towers.

The hotel has been around for a while, but the rooms have been updated and are very large with comfortable beds and a luxurious feeling bathroom. If you book a ‘Level’ room type, you’ll also be given access to the hotel’s lounge where you can enjoy a separate breakfast buffet including a breakfast menu to order items from.
The hotel has a small pool, perfect for families looking to cool down and relax, and in the basement of the hotel you can find a gym for a basic work-out. 4. Star Residences, KLCC

Perfect For: Groups, families, and travelers seeking a more luxurious apartment stay in the city.
Price Range: $$$ – expect to pay around RM 500-700 per night.
If you’re looking to stay in a completely outfitted apartment, rather than in a classic hotel then Star Residences is the place to be. It’s one of the most luxurious (serviced) apartments you’ll find in KLCC.
Depending on the size of your party, the buildings offer a multitude of condos ranging from studios to 3-bedroom apartments. As for the facilities there’s a large pool and gym on the sixth floor and on each of the three residence buildings you’ll find a rooftop infinity pool and an outdoor lounge area. Here you can admire the beautiful Petronas Twin Towers which, especially at night, are a beautiful sight to see.
There are many private hosts and companies that offer the apartments with varying levels of service. If you’re looking for a fully serviced stay, consider the Ascott Star Residences hotel. Located in tower three, it provides fully serviced and well-outfitted apartments.

If you enjoy the location of the aforementioned Crowne Plaza and Star Residences, but don’t enjoy their prices, then consider staying at the Ibis Kuala Lumpur City Centre.
This is one of the first hotel’s we’ve stayed at in Kuala Lumpur and it offers great value for it’s location and amenities. The rooms and beds are comfortable, albeit on the smaller side and you’re within walking distance of KLCC’s top attractions.
The Ibis offers a basic, yet extensive, breakfast buffet and at the time of our stay the hotel’s rooftop infinity pool offered a view of the Twin Towers, but due to new constructions this has now been partially obstructed.
