On our quest to stay at luxury hotels in Bangkok we booked a stay at the Grande Centre Point Terminal 21. The Grande Centre Point is a 5 star hotel that’s located right on top of the famous Terminal 21 mall in Bangkok’s Asok area and promises many facilities at a convenient location.
The hotel was opened in 2012, has 462 rooms and sits in a 28-story building. In this hotel review we’ll share our experience and have a look at the location, the room, the many facilities and the breakfast buffet that they offer.

Location
Let’s start with the location. The Grande Centre Point sits on top of the Terminal 21 Mall in Asoke, which is one of the most famous malls in Bangkok. Asoke is also one of the most bustling areas of Bangkok and the place where the MRT (metro) and the BTS Skytrain intersect. This makes it super convenient to get around by public transport from here. A small downside is that the roads can be very busy, so keep in mind that during rush hour coming and going by car can take a lot of time.
Arrival & Check-in

The main entrance of the hotel is located away from the road and is reachable by car when you drive around the building. If you’re getting to the hotel by foot, the easiest way to enter is through the BTS Asoke walkway and then take the escalator down.
When we entered the hotel we were greeted by a luxurious feeling lobby, with a beautiful chandelier and big glass façade. There is a lot of staff present to help you with your luggage and they have many receptions desks available for arriving guests. During our check-in it was pretty busy so we got whisked off to a separate desk to avoid any wait time. This is the kind of pro-active thinking we love and we felt well taken care off.
Pro-Tip: In case you do have to wait, there’s free water, coffee and tea in the lobby lounge.

Room

During check-in we got upgraded from a superior room to deluxe premium room. I’ll never understand why hotels decided that room types called superior are less luxurious than room types called deluxe, but that’s for another blog post. Our room was located in the high-floor zone of the hotel on the 26th floor. This room is very spacious and comes with a comfortable king-size bed, a smart tv and an absolutely beautiful view.
The bathroom is fairly large and comes with a bathtub, a shower and a little surprise: a Japanese toilet. To be honest, the Japanese toilet is 50% of the reason that we booked this hotel.
Our room also came with a kitchenette, a full-size refrigerator and freezer, and a washing machine. This set-up is not standard for all rooms and looking on the hotel’s website it’s not exactly clear when this kitchen set-up is included in the room.
As for the design of the room you can tell that the hotel was built in 2012. It still looks perfectly acceptable, however in a few years or so it would definitely need an update to keep up with comparable 5-star hotels.

Facilities

As for the facilities at the Grande Centre Point Terminal 21, they offer a LOT. They even dedicated a whole floor to the letter F, for Facilities.
Of course there’s the facilities you expect such as a gym and a pool. However, the hotel also offers: a sauna, two tennis courts, an activity field, a game room, a children’s room, and even a putting green / driving range zone. There is so much to do at the hotel, we liked it as a couple but can imagine that families would have a great time here too!

Pool
As for the pool, there is a large infinity style swimming pool that overlooks Sukhumvit road and you can even see Benchakitti Park in the distance. It’s a really nice pool with comfortable sunbeds, a small children’s pool and even an outside jacuzzi. There’s also poolside service for drinks and food from the pool bar.
Pro Tip: Take a swim at night and admire Bangkok’s skyline all lit up.

Gym
Then for the gym, it’s layout is something we’ve never seen before. It’s like an oddly shaped living room filled with gym machines. They still have all the equipment you need for a hotel work-out, from cardio machines to heavy weights, it’s just that the set-up is really odd.

Breakfast
Breakfast is served on the 5th floor in the hotel’s Blue Spice restaurant. It has everything you expect from a 5 star breakfast: a big combination of intercontinental options, local Thai-cuisine and even ice-cream! As an added bonus if you’re seated next to the window, you’ll have nice view of Bangkok’s skyline.

Conclusion
Now to answer the question: is the Grande Centre Point Terminal 21 worth it? We’d say yes for sure! The location simply cannot be beat as the BTS Skytrain and MRT will get you everywhere you want to go in Bangkok easily. Also having direct access to the Terminal 21 mall is perfect, since there are so many food options there ranging from the cheapest local food-court to full-service restaurants.
Given that the hotel was built in 2012 you could say that the rooms are a bit dated in terms of design and style. However, the rooms are still perfectly acceptable, spacious and offer a beautiful of the city.
The hotel’s friendly service and facilities truly make it an experience that we want to repeat. We wondered if we even needed to leave this hotel to explore the city, because it feels as if you’re in holiday-resort in the middle of one of the busiest parts of Bangkok.
If you want to stay here you expect to pay around 4000 Thai Baht per night, for a (standard) superior room including breakfast ( € 107 | US$ 124 | £ 91 )
